EU legislation means you must inform your users, if you are using cookies to track your users on your website. At sites.ku.dk this is only the case, if you have activated a plugin that uses cookies for example a statistics plugin like Google Analytics.
It is not very difficult to comply with the law, just follow these three steps:
- Activate the plugin “Cookie Law Info” on your site (found in the menu “plugins”)
- Setup the plugin to point to a page of your choice, when they press “Read More” eg. mitsite.sites.ku.dk/privacy
- Write an explanation for your users on the page you’ve pointed the plugin to, along the lines of: We use cookies to track statistics about the usage of this site, in order create a better user experience.
