Sites.ku.dk

Sites.ku.dk is the University of Copenhagen's WordPress platform, which is home to toolboxes, projects and where academics can host their own blog. If you need a site, contact us at blogs@hum.ku.dk

Please notice that this is a DIY-solution. Site owners will need to do all setup themselves (or with the help of local communication people) and make sure to comply with GDPR, Cookie and accessibility regulations. Official projects and collaborations are supported by the UCPH
CMS, which can also handle co-branded project pages (Contact your local communication department to hear more).

Tips & tricks:

It’s a good idea to know what readers see when browsing your blog. This allows you to make your blog more user-friendly and place your key messages where the reader sees them. The following points reflect the results of eye-tracking tests on websites:

  • Headlines get attention, but fancy fonts are ignored
  • Readers rarely look at the lower parts of the website
  • Short paragraphs are better than long ones.
  • Advertising and other things, placed at the top left gets the most attention
  • Large images creates more attention than small pictures
  • Readers spent more time looking at menus and buttons than other parts of your website
  • White space on the site is positive
